who we are

About

Bronze to Success was established as a Nonprofit in 2018, with the intention to organize a safe and enriching environment contributing to an improved quality of life for low-income and middle class youth and for families in the Southeast United States. Our organization’s projects, designed and implemented by an expert staff, emphasize character development that can change youth from the inside out. Supporting the development of self-confidence, leadership abilities, good judgement, and character, we provide youth and those at-risk with a thorough foundation for success.

Meet Rodrick Woodard

Our Founder, Rodrick Woodard, has served his nation honorably for over 14 years in the United States Army. He earned a Master of Public Administration degree from Capella University; during his more than 6 years in academia he acted as a principal investigator to numerous studies related to the mentoring gap that exists for young people of socioeconomic disadvantages. Recognizing the need to close the this gap, Mr. Woodard embarked on a journey to harness the power of pennies to collectively create opportunities that otherwise would not exist for these deserving young people.

With that Bronze to Success was born.

Meet Derrick M. Davis

Derrick earned a Master of Science in Administration of Justice and Security from the University of Phoenix and a Masters in Operational Studies from the U.S. Army’s Command and General Staff College. He is currently serving in the U.S. Army with 29 years of service. Derrick started his career as an enlisted Soldier and decided he had the skills to serve in a different capacity after ten years and became an Officer when he could change lives by shaping policy. He discovered his love for inspiring others while in the military and began mentoring, coaching, and teaching military members, Department of Defense civilians, and young children. He leveraged his experience to assist children in the communities he lived in by providing resources to advance their reading, writing, math, and science comprehension. Derrick continued his volunteer work regardless of where the military sent him. While stationed in Korea and Germany, he donated time and capital to fund programs allowing military members and their families to earn scholarships and pay for daily essentials. Derrick’s vision and passion is to ensure no child is left behind by providing outlets to showcase their success as they strive for their goals and dreams. He is an avid supporter of Bronze to Success, which is an organization that truly believe in impacting youth one donation at a time. Derrick serves as a board member of Bronze to Success, where he constantly works to empower youth and help them build their futures.

why we exist

Core Values

Individual Empowerment

We're dedicated to helping each young person reach his or her individual potential by encouraging a belief in personal responsibility, instilling habits of hard work, and demonstrating an endless, passionate commitment to excellence. We teach character matters.

Self-Determination

It is our intention the curriculum we employ will inspire each student to become more motivated to let go of mental attitudes that are keeping them trapped on lower levels of thought. This kind of mentoring provides participants with the intelligence to make the right decisions and the determination needed to bear the inevitable challenges of today's society.

Intellectual Honesty

Mentoring with the truth is our main tool. We support youth in the areas of academic performance, extracurricular participation, community involvement, and personal responsibility. Our mission is accomplished through programs and services that exercise high standards of ethics, coupled with practices in management and accountability.
